Fostering Environmental Culture in the Digital Transformation of Education: A Conceptual Model Based on Interactive Digital Resources
The relevance of this study is determined by the strategic priorities of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of digitalization of education, particularly within the framework of the state program “Digital Kazakhstan”, as well as by the growing need to educate an environmentally responsible generation capable of responding to contemporary ecological challenges. In the context of global environmental transformations and the rapid development of digital technologies, the formation of environmental culture among students becomes an essential component of modern education. Interactive digital educational resources, including online platforms, multimedia materials, virtual excursions and educational games, enhance the effectiveness of environmental education and support the development of sustainable values, ecological thinking and responsible attitudes toward the environment. The aim of the study is to develop a conceptual model for the formation of students’ environmental culture based on the use of interactive digital educational resources and to determine methodological approaches for their effective integration into the educational process, considering the characteristics of the secondary education system of Kazakhstan. The methodological framework includes analysis of scientific literature, pedagogical modeling, systemic, competence-based and activity-oriented approaches, as well as synthesis of contemporary practices related to the application of digital technologies in environmental education. The results demonstrate that the proposed conceptual model integrates cognitive, value-oriented and activity components of environmental culture, supported by pedagogical conditions that promote environmental awareness and active engagement in environmental protection activities.
